As I’ve mentioned over Thanksgiving, the house is in poor shape. In fact, there’s been no progress between Thanksgiving and now. That means that my parents and I are using only about 30% of the house — if that.
But that did not stop us from celebrating with lots of food. Ham, sweet potatoes, potatoes au gratin, and mac and cheese all had a holiday encore.
I contributed with my Third Annual Famous Blueberry Pie (a name my mom said sounds like an Idi Amin concoction).
It was a humble Christmas in that we ate in the living room, unable to use the dining room. But the companionship of family more than made up for that. Taking time off from law school and watching the Great British Baking Show didn’t hurt either.
